Happy Weekend friends!! How’s everyone surviving back to school?? I can’t believe we are already into our second week of virtual learning! Perhaps you’re feeling like you need to treat yourself?? I have a ton of fun + fabulous finds listed under Shop the Art this week.
First Up…
How gorgeous did the framing turn out (see featured image above!) for this recent client project? It’s a soft white frame with subtle creamy gray undertones. You can also see a bit of wood grain detailing, which adds just a touch of visual interest without being distracting. Love how it turned out!
In Case You Missed It…
Last week, in lieu of my usual Weekend Hot List, I shared a post on Celebrating Melanin, the new + completely outdoor photography installation at Union Market. If you find yourself grabbing a bite to eat there this weekend, definitely check out my post first so that you can see some amazing art too!
Shop the Art…
Jenner McGinn Studio dropped some seriously beautiful art this week. I love these 3 framed mini abstracts by artist Langford Barksdale. Also, the new paper collages from Hannah Myers are so fun… this one caught my eye. These works by Myers have a cool Matisse paper cut-outs vibe, don’t you think?
Who needs some HOT PINK in their life? Check out this perfect abstract duo: The Happiest Days and The Happiest Ways (12×12 in. each) by HelloAllisonArt. Wouldn’t these make a fabulous pair?
And don’t mind me… I’m just over here staring at this STUNNING large-scale commission (48×60 in.) by DC area artist Lanie Mann. Wish this one was going in my home! But, it’s a great reminder that if you love an artist’s style, commissioning a special piece is a wonderful option.
Liza Pruitt’s on-line art gallery just released a new collection of AMAZING cyanotypes of flowers and leaves by Jann Edmonson. I especially love Sun Kissed with it’s unexpected touch of bright + cheery yellow! Need something larger? Autumn Arrivals is a stunner and perfect for the season!
Do not miss seeing this Hillary Whitaker Gallery installation of fine art glass by artist Kimberly Young. GORGEOUS! The gallery also just shared new abstract coastal landscapes on paper by artist Karin Olah. This one made me stop mid-scroll!
Local DC area artist ArtbyMegan just completed and shared Hydrangea 1 and 2 (16×20 in. each). So soft and pretty!
I don’t know about you all, but I need more space in my home for new art!!
Let Me Know…
I love hearing from you all! Have a favorite art piece that I shared this week? Let me know in the comments below!
