Colorblocking and Curves

This client had recently moved into a stunning new home in Chevy Chase, MD. She had just finished working with an interior designer who introduced a lovely color palette of soft reds, light blues, off-whites, and wood tones. The family room featured an amazing wall for a large piece of statement art. I recommended an original mixed media painting by Maura Segal. This artist uses shapes and strips of hand-cut paper both below and atop her painted surfaces. Additionally, Segal’s geometric colorblocking is balanced by delicate freeform and fluid lines that run from edge to edge of her canvases.

Additionally, the client and I selected two fun, colorful bird prints for her eat-in kitchen area. I designed custom framing to finish this elegant and modern look.
